Marzooq Momen joined Cavitch in May 2022 as an associate attorney. He is a member of Cavitch’s business law practice, concentrating on corporate, tax, financing, and real estate transactional matters. His practice focuses on representing strategic buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions including the purchase, sale, division, merger, liquidation and restructuring/reorganization transactions involving limited liability companies, partnerships, and Subchapter C and Subchapter S corporations.
Prior to joining Cavitch, Marzooq worked at a tax law firm where he focused his practice on handling taxpayer controversies with the Internal Revenue Service (examinations, appeals, litigation, and criminal tax matters), advising clients on structuring prospective transactions, and obtaining rulings and other technical guidance from the IRS.
Marzooq earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the Ohio State University and earned his J.D from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he achieved the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Mergers and Acquisitions and served as the President of Cleveland-Marshall’s chapter of the Federalist Society.
Marzooq is licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, the United States Tax Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Marzooq was born in London, England, and was raised in Solon, Ohio. In his spare time, Marzooq enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and rooting for Cleveland’s sports teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
