Marcus joined Cavitch, Familo & Durkin in August of 2018, and is a member of the Business, Real Estate, and Capital and Finance Practice Groups. Marcus focuses his practice on all aspects of business and real estate transactions, including the acquisition and disposition of real property, debt and equity financing, zoning and land use planning, joint ventures, and the formation and operation of business entities.
Marcus has counseled clients through a number of complex legal challenges, including, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, like-kind exchanges, the sale of distressed assets, and loan restructurings.
Marcus earned his Juris Doctor from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, summa cum laude, in 2018. As a law student, Marcus was honored with the Suggs I. Garber Award for the Highest Academic Grade Average in Courses in Business Organizations and Taxation.
Prior to law school, Marcus worked for a business consulting firm in Cleveland, Ohio, assisting both public and private companies in developing strategies for growth. Marcus received his undergraduate degree in Economics from John Carroll University, and his master’s degree in Urban Planning and Development from Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs.
