Eric A. Sarmiento joined Cavitch in August 2013 as an associate attorney.
Eric is a member of Cavitch’s corporate practice, concentrating on corporate, financing, and real estate transactional matters. As part of this practice, he represents strategic buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, primarily in the middle market. Mr. Sarmiento is part of a team of Cavitch Lawyers that act as general counsel on a wide variety of business matters, including business formation and structuring, commercial lease agreements, loan agreements and employment agreements.
Eric earned his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Akron School of Law and College of Business Administration, respectively. Eric was also the recipient of a CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Constitutional Law I. While at Akron Law, Eric worked in the Legal Clinic and worked on appellate briefs and other documents that were ultimately filed in various courts including the Ohio Supreme Court, the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. While working in the Clinic, Eric would also make weekly visits to the Summit or Mahoning County jails as part of the Inmate Assistance Program.
Eric received his undergraduate degree in international business administration with a minor in Spanish from The Ohio State University. He graduated magna cum laude with honors and also worked as an intern in the Ohio State House of Representatives.
Eric was born in Olean, New York, and was raised in Solon, Ohio.
